Mary Jane joined Great Lakes Advisors in 2020 to work with the firm’s institutional clients and their consultants. Her investment management experience spans over 40 years, encompassing executive positions managing institutional departments, senior investment roles, portfolio management, equity analyst research, marketing, and client service. She has also served on the Boards of industry-related organizations, including a publicly traded regional bank and a family of mutual funds.

Early in her career, Mary Jane earned her CFA in the course of serving as equity analyst for the manufacturing, basics, and utilities sectors. She became lead portfolio manager for her firm’s fixed income clients, covering typical government/credit/mortgage portfolios for institutional clients ranging from short-term to long-term mandates, as well as high yield portfolio management for insurance clientele.

Her professional experience as portfolio manager, analyst, and fiduciary for client assets led to her appointment as Chief Investment Officer for the North American division of Royal Bank of Scotland’s global asset management endeavors. Later on at Rorer Asset Management, she served as head of their institutional client division. Most recently, Mary Jane was a Client Portfolio Manager at Rothschild & Co. Asset Management U.S. Inc., and served on their Independent Investment Risk Review Committee which seats Rothschild & Co.’s global investment and risk professionals.

Mary Jane has worked with every type of institutional client, including Taft-Hartley plans, public and other governmental funds, eleemosynary, corporate, and insurance funds. Her experience in portfolio management and knowledge of the capital markets is coupled with an understanding of client and plan objectives, risk tolerances, and client care. Taken together, every aspect of her background has come forward to create an invaluable relationship between portfolio management and the delivery of exceptional client satisfaction.

Mary Jane has a love of nature and athletic activities including skiing, tennis, hiking, and horseback riding. She presently serves as Treasurer to a tax-exempt community association whose endeavors are environmental, eco-preservation, and natural habitat education.
